Abacus AI SuperComputer - FAQs

What is an Abacus AI SuperComputer?

Abacus AI SuperComputer is a persistent, always-on cloud environment purpose-built for AI products — offering database, persistent storage, terminal access, inbound HTTPS connectivity, and integration with Abacus AI CLI Agent. Think of it as AWS-like infrastructure where you get compute, storage, databases, and deployment capabilities without managing any of the underlying infrastructure yourself.

How is Abacus AI SuperComputer different from Abacus AI Agent?

Abacus AI Agent is a general intelligence agent that helps you complete a wide range of tasks, such as creating web or mobile apps, generating presentations, making images or videos, scheduling tasks, and running different workflows.

Abacus AI SuperComputer is different because it gives you the infrastructure to build, deploy, and host anything continuously. It combines an always-on cloud environment with AI-powered development tools, terminal access, databases, storage, APIs, inbound HTTPS connectivity, and the Abacus AI CLI.

You can use SuperComputer to build and host open-source LLM assistants, games, apps in any tech stack, desktop apps, APIs, databases, agents, workflows, and more. It is designed for projects that need a real cloud environment, not just a one-time task.

You can also connect your GitHub account, bring in an existing repo, build on top of it, host it, and manage future updates from the same place.

What are the different available features in SuperComputer?

SuperComputer combines powerful cloud services into an easy interface that you can use with natural language or through the terminal.

  • Databases and APIs — You can create and host databases on SuperComputer. These databases can be used inside apps, scripts, workflows, or APIs.
  • Create and Host Anything — Using the Abacus AI CLI and Abacus AI coding capabilities, you can build web apps, games, AI apps, internal tools, desktop apps, and services, then host them from the same environment.
  • Always-on server — SuperComputer gives you an always-on server for hosting web services, apps, workflows, agents, scripts, and background jobs. Your environment can keep running even when you are not actively using it.
  • Personal computer environment — SuperComputer includes browser and file-system access. You can test apps, run workflows locally inside the environment, manage files, and automate tasks.
  • Terminal access — The terminal is one of the main interfaces of SuperComputer. You can run the Abacus AI CLI, write and edit code, install packages, manage services, and build or deploy projects directly.
  • Storage system — SuperComputer includes S3-style storage for your files, assets, datasets, and project resources. Your projects can access these files as needed.
  • SSH access — You can connect securely to your SuperComputer environment from your own terminal, editor, or tools.
  • GitHub connection — You can connect your GitHub account, bring your code workspace into SuperComputer, build on top of existing repos, deploy them, and manage updates using the Abacus AI CLI and SuperComputer cloud services.

Together, these features give you an end-to-end platform to build and host software without needing to manage the underlying infrastructure yourself.

What can I use it for?

You can use SuperComputer for development, hosting, automation, agents, databases, APIs, and open-source projects. Some of the use cases are given below:

  • Host your own LLM assistant — You can build and host your own LLM assistant with your preferred tools, prompts, data sources, models, and UI. This can be used for personal workflows, internal tools, customer support, coding, research, or domain-specific assistants.
  • Apps and web services — Build apps, games, dashboards, backend services, AI tools, and internal products in the tech stack of your choice. You can use the Abacus AI CLI from the terminal and host your work on public URLs.
  • Host databases and APIs — Create and host databases on SuperComputer, then use them in apps, scripts, cron jobs, or agents. You can also build data pipelines and expose them through secure API endpoints.
  • Schedule cron jobs — Run scheduled scripts, long-running tasks, data jobs, and workflow automations. Since SuperComputer is always on, your jobs can continue running in the background. You can also store outputs in hosted databases and use them later in other scripts or apps.
  • Host personal agents or repos — You can host personal agents, custom workflows, or services from your own repositories. With the always-on environment, you do not need to manage infrastructure or deployment setup manually.
  • Machine learning workloads — Install TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or any ML framework, with access to the broader Abacus.AI platform for GPU-intensive jobs.
  • Host open-source apps — You can deploy open-source repos and use tools built by the open-source community. You can customize them for your needs and host them in your own SuperComputer environment.
What are the technical specifications of the SuperComputer?

Abacus AI SuperComputer runs on Ubuntu Linux, which gives you a standard environment for development, deployment, and automation.

Each SuperComputer includes dedicated compute resources with 2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, and persistent disk storage. It also includes terminal access, root permissions, browser-based shell access, and the ability to run services inside an always-on cloud environment.

Do I need any technical skills to use it?

No. You can use SuperComputer through natural language with Abacus AI. You can ask it to deploy an app, create a database, write a script, connect a GitHub repo, schedule a task, or set up an API, and it can handle the technical execution for you.

At the same time, SuperComputer is also built for developers. If you are technical, you get terminal access, SSH access, root permissions, persistent storage, and a full Ubuntu environment where you can directly write code, run commands, install packages, and manage services.

So you do not need technical skills to get started, but technical users still get full control when they want it.

How does SuperComputer handle data security and compliance?

Abacus.AI maintains SOC 2 compliance for its infrastructure and services, providing enterprise-level security assurance. Your Abacus AI SuperComputer environment is a dedicated, isolated instance and is not shared with other users. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Your databases, files, storage, and project resources remain private to your environment.
